This study examines the defensive system of Stratonikeia, one of the three most important cities in the Carian region, according to Strabo. This study examines the pre-Hellenistic Stratonikeia Kadıkule Refuge Castle, the gate, tower, and defensive walls integrated into this structure, the Hellenistic defensive walls, and the Roman-era changes to the city walls, including the gate integrated into the structure. The design, masonry techniques, and tactical defensive strategies are evaluated within the context of the city's and the region's political process. In this respect, the work will be of interest to readers interested in archaeology, history, architecture, and art history.

Bu çalışmada, Strabon’un söylemiyle Karia Bölgesi’nin en önemli üç kentinden birisi
olan Stratonikeia’nın Savunma Sistemi ele alınmıştır. Bu kapsamda savunmayı oluşturan
Hellenistik Dönem öncesi Stratonikeia Kadıkulesi Sığınma Kalesi, bu yapıya entegre kapı,
kule, savunma duvarları ile Hellenistik Dönem savunma duvarları ve Roma Dönemi’nde
surdaki değişimle ona entegre edilen kapı, tasarım, yapıların duvar örgü teknikleri, taktiksel
savunma stratejisi, kentin ve bölgenin siyasi süreci içerisinde değerlendirilmiştir. Bu yönüyle
eser, başta Arkeoloji olmak üzere Tarih, Mimarlık ve Sanat Tarihi alanıyla ilgili okuyucuların
ilgisini çekecek niteliktedir.
