184 pp, color pictures, Turkish. The archaeological artifacts of the Seben district of Bolu province have not been extensively researched scientifically. This book aims to partially address this deficiency. In this context, we have conducted an archaeological survey in Seben, where we have evaluated the function and history of the rock dwellings, their architectural forms and equipment, and the geographic location of the rock settlements, using the geological structure of the rocks and surrounding archaeological findings. This study aims to illuminate the role that the rock dwellings may have played in the historical process of the region. The archaeological survey I conducted with my team in the Seben district and its villages in 2017 was financially supported by the Bolu Special Provincial Administration and institutionally by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Museums, the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, the Museum Directorate, Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University, the Seben District Governorship, and the Municipality. Metin Ömeroğlu, an art historian and expert at the Bolu Museum Directorate, represented the Ministry in the research. Archaeologist Müberra Çevik and Doğuş Serçe, a student in the Department of Archaeology at Istanbul University, contributed to the fieldwork with their dedicated work. We are working with Istanbul University faculty member Prof. Dr. Mustafa Hamdi Sayar on the epigraphic artifacts we studied during the fieldwork. The village headmen and residents of Seben district also provided valuable information and assistance. The Bolu Archaeological Museum Directorate shared photographs and information about the region from its archives with me. Gürbüz Ertem, who frequently travels in the region, also granted me permission to use his photographs. My research team stayed at the Seben Student Dormitory, part of the Credit and Dormitories Institution. The dormitory staff was very hospitable. Çınar Restaurant prepared our regular and complete meals. Our driver, Adnan Altmdaş, was a vital part of our team, driving his vehicle through challenging terrain and never giving us any trouble during his shifts. I extend my sincere gratitude to the aforementioned institutions and individuals for their contributions. Furthermore, my family has always provided unwavering financial and moral support. I extend my endless gratitude to my family. (Preface)
